A Picasso has nothing on these

Last week we had a little painting session. I know its taken be a while to post the pictures, but better late than never.

Here are Declans creations.  They include an apple tree, a truck doozer (Declan speak) and a man as well as some rainbow hands.

and here are Rileys contributions. He copies Declan with most things so they are really his interpretation of Declans pictures. I think he did a wonderful job.

Declan also did some interesting artwork outside today with some chalk.  I think this is a game he made up, not quite sure but he was talking about bouncing a ball on the pictures???.

Steve and I both thought this little monster was very cute (well I thought it was cute, Steve thought it was cool)

Playdough Bug.

How cute is this bug that the boys made?.  Love the huge eyes.

They received a new puzzle yesterday. Its actually a puzzle and game in one. Heaps of fun (despite the look on Declans face. He was sick of waiting for me to take the photo). With only a little help from me they managed to finish it.

Another one of Declans little paper/sticky tape creatures. I think this is a monster of some kind?  He puts so much detail in.

And finally a picture of Riley, just to show how dirty he can get!. He is such a “boy” whereas Declan can be quite tidy.  He had just finished some new artwork on his skateboard, hence the chalk all over him. In this picture he is actually eating one of those tube icy-poles which he had taken out of the wrapper and was holding it in his hand.

More hot weather, more Lego!.

Lego is still the major form of entertainment for the boys at the moment. They are getting more creative everyday. Riley is really starting to get the hang of it as well. Here is his latest creation. He is the unfortunate younger brother who only gets to use the wheels if his older brother is in a sharing kind of mood…. so Riley mainly builds space ships!!!!!. (Gill I know you know how he feels!)

here is Declans car, or should I say one of many.

Now for an oldie but a goodie!. This is the result when I gave Declan a couple pieces of paper, scissors and sticky tape. I was quite impressed when he made it. It really shows just how much he learnt at Kinder this year.

A Lego Afternoon

When its nudging 40 degrees outside what else is there to do but play lego!.  I must admit, old habits die hard. As the boys (mainly Declan as Riley lost interest after 5 minutes) were busy making cars and spaceships, I was creating a lovely house complete with furniture and landscaped garden!. This is exactly what I use to make as a child!!!. Anyway, Declan thought it was “cute” and made me a car to go with the house.

He did actually make a tree house earlier in the week which I thought looked pretty good (top left).

Anyway as you can see Santa was very kind this year and their supply of Lego has grown to quite a good stash.

Here is another picture that I have been meaning to blog about. This year Declan surprised me by writing out all of his Christmas Cards. He did 23 in one hit!. I was amazed. It did take a while to get through but he did a fantastic job. I helped by writing the names of his Kinder friends on a piece of paper but that was it.  Its reassures me that he will cope with school and that the right decision was made to send him next year (OMG its nearly “this” year, only 32 days till he starts !!!! )

Just a couple more pictures to get this blog started.

A “block” creation from Riley. This was completed a few months ago. Love the angles he used

Hello world!

Wow , another blog to manage!. This is the brain child of Steve and its a blog that we are going to use to record and share all the wonderful things our children create and do.  They are always drawing and making these amazing pieces and we are always taking photos and then loading them onto the computer and never sharing them with the world. Their minds come up with some wonderful creations so be prepared to be amazed and bombarded with all that they do.
